Now we are going to think of grammatical
theme: compound nouns. Remind me what it is.NOUNScan be combined to form
compound nouns. These are very common, and new combinations are invented almost
daily. They normally have two parts. The second part identifies the object or
person in question (man, friend, tank, table, room). The first part tells us
what kind of object or person it is, or what its purpose is (police, boy,
water, dining, bed):type / what purpose What or who man friend tank table roomtwo
parts may be written in a number of ways:
. as one word.: policeman, boyfriend
. as two words joined with a
hyphen.: dining-table
. as two separate words.: fish
tank.anyway you need to check in a dictionary whether a compound noun is
written as one word or two words.are no clear rules about this - so write the
common compounds that you know well as one word, and the others as two words.

different from the two separate words.is important in pronunciation, as it

each speaker (1-5) with two opinions. But first of all read the opinions
